Friends are ‘angels without wings’? Or rather ‘angels without tails and horns’?

‘Friends’; what can we do without them? What can’t we do without them? I’ve once heard someone putting in FB saying to his (good) friend ‘with or without you, it will still be the same.’ Ouch, that would hurt me badly if the words were directed to me from a friend. Perhaps it was uttered out of anger and without first taking into consideration all the years of friendship. Either way, words can build up as well as destroying good friendship.

Friends do not take advantage on friends- they are NOT supposed to, in fact not even to other people who are not their friends too. That is the work of the devil. It’s evil, by the way. However, this is not the case. It is even said that it is ‘safer and acceptable’ for a friend to betray friend, for all of reason, they are friends. Friend in need is a friend indeed. That’s really a nice crap.

Ever experiencing friends lying to you, frequently and recently? Instead of just saying ‘I’m sorry I can’t attend the meeting or dinner’ (because there’s another bigger party in town or event to attend) some even went on to say (lie) ‘I can’t make it to the meeting because I don’t have a transport/ I cannot come tonight because I have to take care of my ailing sick grandmother/ I might not be available later because I am dying sick with flu’ and the next day you would hear them talking about the great party and BBQ that they enjoyed last night. Maybe it’s too hard for them to be honest with you but the hurt remains. I know how it feels.

Friends are after all, our assets. It’s sad when some prefer to reveal themselves as liabilities and deficits. Don’t ever think that by having many friends, you will be secured. They may be some angels among friends, but the devil is also an angel, a fallen one- thus, the angels without tails and horns. We need to be wise and sensitive enough to detect those who are there with us because they are sincere to be an acquaintance as well as those who prowl around you waiting for the opportunity to take the advantage of your kindness and generosity.

Lastly, let us take this little post as an eye-opener, not so much to cultivate hatred and create suspicion but to be frank and an ever green article that relates to every person in every corners of the world. Friends are there for us because we need them. See you all in the next post!
